Features keynote speaker, Carrie Stuart Parks.
Carrie Stuart Parks is an award-winning, internationally known forensic artist. She travels across the United States and Canada teaching courses in forensic art to law enforcement professionals including the FBI, Secret Service, and RCMP, and is a major instructor of forensic art in the world. Her novels in the mystery/suspense/thriller genre have garnered numerous awards including the Christy, Carol, and INSPY award. As a professional fine artist, she has written and illustrated best-selling art books for North Light Publishers.
In her first keynote, Carrie will share “The Fine Art of Writing.” We write to “do our art” and tell a story; often we tell our story. Carrie will explain the parallels between art and writing and how to separate our stories from our writing.
Carrie’s second keynote is titled “First Place Cabbage.” In this encouraging keynote, Carrie will share the story of her writing career and lessons she has learned along the way. Her talk will include how she has used her forensic art background and professional cases in her writing—and how she came to be mentored by Frank Peretti.
